From the publishers of The Chronicle of Skin + Allergy, Women in Dermatology, published annually, is the first nationally-distributed publication that recognizes and commemorates the contributions of women to the speciality of Dermatology in Canada.
Female dermatologists have long made significant contributions to the fields of skincare and discovery, as Clinicians, Researchers, and Educators.
The future of Women in Dermatology might be seen as the future of the speciality itself, as an emerging majority of female practitioners pays increased attention to the unique requirements and preferences of female patients.
Medical Editor
We are honoured to have Dr. Alavi serve as the first Medical Editor of the inaugural issue of Women in Dermatology.
She is an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Toronto and is currently the Director of the Wound Healing Fellowship at Women’s College Hospital. Dr. Alavi completed a fellowship in Wound Healing, her residency in Dermatology and a Master’s of Science in Community Health at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Alavi was the Chair of the Women in Dermatology Leadership Meeting that was held in Toronto in April of 2018
